Hi All and Happy New Year
i am thinking of getting Sky Q in the house but have been reading and seen bad reviews about it dropping service a lot. i know u cant belive everything u read on the web so i will put it out here for your views.
i have 2 hd boxes in the house and 2 cards ( the lady of the house wanted that ) and i run a cable to the attic room with a sky eye.
i am not with sky for my broadband and speedtesting is giving me a constant speed of 92 up and 21 down.
    Regards

Went with Sky Q last month and had a very similar set up to you. I'm not with Sky for broadband either.

They provided a Sky Q booster which basically sits in a central location and is wirelessly connected to your router. This creates the WiFi mesh that the boxes connect through. I've had a couple of instances where the mini boxes dropped, but nothing major. I suspect those disconnects may have been related to firmware updates.

You cannot use the magic eyes with Sky Q so that's something for you to consider. You will need a mini box at each TV. Sky will only provide one main box and two mini boxes at present from what I understand.

We have the full package and it's the same price at the moment. Only outlay was for installation which was €349 for Silver box and two minis. Booster was included in that.

They mentioned something about a discount in the New Year. I think that has to do with the additional HD box we had (multi-room) which no longer applies with Sky Q. I need to get back on to them.
