    Hi all

Can anyone point me towards a document outlining per diem expenses for pilots?

Is there a set rate? Is it tax free?

    Thanks

Different per diems for different companies obviously. You need to request the tax info from the revenue commissioners who will be able to supply you informantion re tax status. Are you a journo looking for a hot scoop as you ain't going to dig any fruity nuggets up.

    Read http://www.revenue.ie/en/tax/it/leaflets/it54.html
Call revenue for the magic document listing the cities/countries (it vanished last year). In simple terms if your employer pays same/less than the civil service rate its tax free

Should also claim the flat rate expense tax credit. Once you hold the job title listed there is no paperwork you get the credit assigned. http://www.revenue.ie/en/tax/it/employee-expenses.html
