I was looking at flights to Valencia in September but seems as if Ryanair is only option but they only go on a Wed & Sunday which donsn't really suit.

Is it likely that Aer Lingus would offer flights for Summer season or would they already be on sale if this was to be the case? Thanks!

The Ryanair flight schedule to Valencia is a joke. You arrive in Valencia in the late evening. Aer Lingus do not fly there. Have a look at getting a cheap Ryanair flight to Madrid and then get the high speed train to Valencia. Also have a look at this thread for different ideas. https://www.tripadvisor.ie/ShowTopic-g187529-i499-k7644128-Getting_from_alicante_airport_to_Valencia-Valencia_Province_of_Valencia_Valencian_Country.html

It's a real shame that such a great city is so poorly serviced by flights. Best thing to do is get a train from Alicante, it takes 1 hour 50 minutes. Busses are also an option.

Aer Lingus haven't done VLC-DUB for years. If memory serves they did it first and then Ryanair came in and AE dropped out. If Ryanair doesn't suit, your options are basically Alicante, Barcelona or Madrid plus train/bus. I've done all three but prefer Madrid, it's usually the cheapest and as above poster pointed the Ave connection is very smooth (plus you can get the local train from Atocha-Barajas for free with code on train ticket).
