Smart thermostat recommendations

    Folks.

I'm looking at getting a smart thermostat fitted to my house to control the oil fired heating.

We currently have a Super Q Firebird boiler which splits the heating via some pumps to 2 zones ( Which I'm not convinced actually work but that's for another day )

Anyways, I've had a look and the Nest thermostat seems to be the best but I'd prefer some real life opinions on the other brands which may be as good or better. Preferably I'd prefer one that didn't need a paid subscription. So in essence, I want to be able to control the heating when I'm away and if possible have the function to zone it, I'd also like for it to be able to give me the house temperature on the app while I'm gone.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Look into Eph ember. If you got fitted a two zone kit with wireless stats and add a gateway to connect to wifi it will give you both temperatures on phone. Boiler being a super q then house is more than likely pre-2006 so eligible for seai grant which should cover a certain majority of cost

Cheers for that. I'll have a look at them. Yes house is pre 2006.

If you go onto App Store or google store type in Ember and download. It will let you have a trial of it without account
