Hi. We currently have our broadband with 3, but our modem wasnt working and we got it sent away to be fixed from a 3 store. Then we got it back and it only worked for a few minutes (they didnt fix it) That was 2 weeks before Christmas and we havnt had the chance to drive all the way to the 3 store again to get it sent away again (we are being charged all this time for it even though they didnt fix it. On the phonr they said we could buy a new 3 modem for €70. Does anyone know if you can get a cheap universal modem for Argos/DID that would work (like universal tv remotes) Or does it specifically have to be a 3 modem?

It shouldn't have to be a 3 modem. Any 3g/4g modem should work if you pop the 3 sim into it. I don't think Argos or DID stock them though so you might have to look online, Amazon/Ebay. As for brands, all the networks use Huawei as their hardware so that's a good option. TP-Link might be good too. Check out their official websites too. Hope this helps.

You should buy you own (so you can chose network at will), but dont expect it to be much lower than 70E.

This isnt even the top unit right now and is €140.

Check out maplin if you are close to one, probably not the cheapest option though. They stock tp-link among other brands.
