Hi, just recently the saorview signal quality on my LG smart tv has dropped dramatically. The signal quality is now 0% whereas the signal strength is 92%. (Transmitter 2RN 2). The picture is completely gone now or very patchy.

Can anybody suggest a reason for the signal quality dropping so dramatically? And how to fix this?

    Thanks

Not sure what the problem could be, the only time I've personally seen the signal quality go to zero with hi signal strength was a signal overload situation when a hi output distribution amp was fitted between the receiver and aerial, too much signal can be as bad as too little. Has anything changed in your aerial/distribution setup that may have caused this?

I have a second tv cable running from the aerial to a second tv. The signal to the 2nd tv is fine and there's no issues with the picture quality on the screen.

I've had the 2nd tv set up for about 6mths now and there was no issue with the picture quality on both tvs until just recently.

Would it be the cable running from the aerial to the first tv - if it was damaged could this cause the signal qulaity to drop to zero?

Sometimes the signal quality on the first tv goes up to 15 - 20% for a short time and the picture on screen is fine. However it doesn't stay at this level and reverts back down to 0%.

Yes, how is the split to the 2 TVs done, basic splitter/distribution amplifier/etc.?

Have you checked cable/connections from the split to the first TV?
    Where is the aerial located?

I just have the 2 cables connected to the saorview aerial - its in the attic. I haven't got a splitter - do I need to use one?

How are they connected to the aerial? Both directly on to the aerial? If so you could be shorting out the cable and a splitter should be used...run a cable from the aerial into a splitter and feed the two rooms from that..

Do not use a cheap white plastic Y splitter as these are rubbish..buy a metal F slitter and use f connectors for a better connection.
