Unfortunately, I ripped the threads from my FSA Tempo chainset when removing and now i'm looking for a replacement. Looking for a triple, 8 speed compatible, square taper chainset. Any crank length will do really. To be paired with a BBUN26.

I can get one for about 50 euro new, but thought i'd see if anyone has anything lying about they would be willing to part with for a bit cheaper?

I can't help you with a new chainset but if you are having trouble getting the old one off, I suggest you just undo the crank bolts and cycle around on it for a while. Both cranks will come loose fairly handly. I just done it recently with mine and I was able to replace my BBUN 26.

Thanks for the advice. I have the chainset and BB out now, but the chainset is unusable. Have a replacement BB ordered which I plan on fitting this weekend.

Would you be interested in Claris 8sp, 48/34, without the BB - e20?

Thanks Alek. I'll keep it in mind. Not sure I have the know how to get a triple front shifter and deraileur to work with a compact crankset. Are the spacings the same if I just locked out the limit screws?

Spacing between the chainrings is the same, haven't done this but AFAIK it can be done easily by adjusting the limit screw and cable tension.

I'll have a look at that link thanks. Assume it's square taper compatible? Is there much wear on it? Are you Dublin based?

It is standard Shimano square taper. Some use on it, but not much - approx. 3-4k km. Its actually my workmate's, can be collected and looked at in Santry, D17 (8am-5pm). I can also take it home (near Harold's Cross) if it suits you better.

Oops, its not Claris! Its "PROWHEEL, 48/34T, HI-POLISHED BLACK 172.5mm", exactly like this one:
