This is a hd ready set not full hd so 720p instead of 1080. Plus fairly small size. Fine for monitor but as tv I personally would find it too small

That's not the point. It's fairly crappy specs by today's standards, the smart TV aspect is it's only selling point.

HD ready should have died 5 years ago.

    1366 x 768. Not a deal.

Its half HD. It was a marketing lie used when full HD was actually too expensive. 1049088 pixels instead of 2073600.

For the standard user like myself that just wants a tv to watch crap in bed I don't see the issue.

The smart part just saves buying Amazon stick

Being 720P won't really make any difference on a 28" TV in terms of movies and the like but it would make a difference if you're connecting it a PC or using it to play an XB1/PS4 on.

The bargain really depends on how good the smart functionality is/how long remains supported. But taking it at face value it seems like a reasonably good deal.

Isn't it the other way around? The closer you are to the monitor the more the resolutions matters. This would be perfectly fine as a small TV when you are sitting at any kind of distance very few people would be able to tell the difference between 720 and full. Sitting very close though using it as a monitor the difference would be noticeable.

It's got WebOS 2 which has Amazon video , nowtv, Netflix, the BBC players, C5 catchup a couple of Plex clients. Miracast is excellent. Assuming you've a smart DNS this has just about everything you need bar ITV player and C4. Set it up as located in UK and you're good to go.

DNS settings can be changed under the network options so no need to fiddle around with your router.

Based on my experience with WebOS 2 on my 42'' the smart TV function is excellent

I am still thinking of buying this TV for my bedroom. Does anyone have this TV? If they have, what is it like? Can they get Showbox, Mobdro and Kodi? Or would it be better to buy this TV when it comes out? https://www.amazon.co.uk/GOODMANS-24-Inch-Android-Smart-TV-x/dp/B01LVXF9AT/ref=s9_simh_gw_g504_i2_r?_encoding=UTF8&fpl=fresh&pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_s=&pf_rd_r=5QEKGAYC5TNEZG8CWFCE&pf_rd_t=36701&pf_rd_p=16f14aeb-bd11-4e9e-8c26-9ca0139074ee&pf_rd_i=desktop

At this stage there's no point in getting a 768 line TV unless it's dirt cheap.
HD TV and Blu Ray are 1080 and you'd be relying on the TV not to mess them up.
