I have a look through adverts.ie every now and then in the farming section. Never bought anything off it yet. But how does it work? Lets say if I make an offer of whatever and its accepted am I in a contract to buy it or can you still refuse when you turn up to buy the item? Only wondering because you cant get the sellers number until he accepts your offer? Whats yer experience with it?

Bought a few things off adverts, not farming goods but mainly electronic items. You make an offer, if the seller is happy then he will accept the offer, send you contact details etc. If you dont like the item after you can walk away. Sales fall through regular on adverts.ie, basically guys not following through on the offer. But in General it works ok.
Even though the ad is free its still not a great place to sell stuff of any value as you dont get the same amount of lookers as on dungdeal.
But as we are talking about it shows that its starting to get traction

I'd consider you are in a contract to buy once you make an offer, but you can always stipulate in the offer "subject to examination" or whatever.
Not sure about farming stuff specifically but there can be great value there. You can check out someones comments and feedback and get an idea if they are messy or straight.

Selling his a whole different ballgame, " Nice car, see my ads, swap you for a puck goat cash my way!"

Ive bought a few things on adverts but it wouldnt be my first port of call to sell anything.
Its full of stupid offers on ads.like im looking for 300 for something and i keep getting offers of 100/120.
And ads can be up for a long time

I actually think done deal is starting to go this way too .
When i sell something on donedeal i put down my price (true price) and stipulate no offers or time wasters.
3 years ago i would have gotten phone calls of people who are interested at that price .
Now i seem to be getting texts asking what my best price is , and i reply to it .
Then get another text offering half that in cash today.
