Pingshou at 6/1 in the first at Cheltenham looks a bit big, won a decent novice hurdle here last time. Has a penalty but the step up in trip should suit.

Would also be looking to take on Clan Des Obeaux at the prices. While he was impressive the last day I think the win is being massively overrated, the fav and the Henderson horse that day were awful and he didn't beat much else.

Charles Byrnes here in the first at Tramore is being lumped. Was about 13/2 20 minutes ago into 13/8.

    Unlucky Charles!

Aubusson might go well in the 12.50 in a competitive handicap chase at Cheltenham 14/1 ew though I'd fear Vyta du Roc. Did an e/w double of Dawerann at Tramore and Toe the line at fairyhouse 17/1.

At huge odds Archie Meade could outrun his price in the 3 mile handicap hurdle fairyhouse. You should get about 100 on bf

    He didnt win

Pingshit. Thought he was going to win coming round the home turn but then he didn't win.

1.3 he went before not winning

What price was C'est Jersey last night? went off awful short there

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,137 ✭✭✭gazza1

Have had a small ew on YOU SAY WHAT @ 20/1 3.30 exeter. Showed nothing in his first run over fences but that was also his first run since april.Has ran twice at exeter before winning both times. Trainer has a 4-10 win strike rate and 3-8 with chasers and this is his only runner at the track today.

Good luck with your bets today and Happy New Year !!

Was watching a video on the Racing Post Facebook over Christmas and Joe Tizzard said Robinsfirth will win next time out so I put a few quid on that

all mine are non runners now . thankfully with ground. i'm finding it difficult to get Cogry beaten in the next and 9/2 may be value. far from my fav horse but only other one with soft ground firm is fingal bay and he has to give him a stone.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,912 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

    So It's War 25-1 2.55

Usually a consistent performer, it's last run was awful and reflected in price I feel.
Should compete for a place if back at it.

    lil ew 25-1

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,722 ✭✭✭posturingpat

Fagan's a big price at 9/2 in the 2.40,has a similar hurdles rating to the odds on fav and looks like the type that will be a better chaser, here's hoping.

I dont think he did much wrong tbf.
He held onto the horse as long as he could. Brought him into the race brilliantly. Losing the iron cost him no momentum or hindrance.
In my opinion he was just beaten by a horse that found more on that ground on the day.

    And I backed him.....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,484 ✭✭✭Peintre Celebre

Paddy Kennedy done at 1.08 there to get his annual winner. You'd honestly feel for him he must have his claim for the last six years his brother comes and loses his in about six months

I was flippant there but I have to question his tactics, mainly because I view the horse as lazy at times. I think had Jacob been more aggressive sooner then the horse would have won.

Instead he got sucked into a battle when still going through the gears.

    Quadriga 33-1 3.30 southwell

Ran on and was nearest finish last time out against todays favourite.
I think it can go better today if closer.

    2pts win 33-1

He had the one at Ballinrobe a well punted one the day after Sadlers Wells won the champion stakes at the Phoenix Park I had the two lumped in a double

Thanks for that PC. Was clearing out my attic and just found that footage on VHS but couldn't believe it was that long. He's deadly at Ballinrobe

How the lad has any horses is unreal. I'd say 60% of his horses are pulled up. If only you could get the likes of Merion Row, O'Donoghues Opera and a few more out of the stable you would have seriously well handicapped horses!!

    Listowel in September.

I can never understand how he keeps his owners or attracts new ones.

John White is another trainer who hasnt had a winner in years but still has horses in training, granted not many, but he still holds a trainers license each year. How do they make a living?

Really naughty in the last at Cheltenham. Cockney Wren was a late non runner. It gets clipped in the ring, as a non runner, before the off from 16's to 14's, leading to a 5p deduction. You couldn't make it up

Our little Sister 11/2 is absolutely thrown in tomorrow Southwell 12.10.Trainer has similar work track to Southwell and this will know it's job with top pilot booked. After missing a 6/1 winner today which I was waiting for I won't miss this.Bumper at Musselburgh on Wednesday is interesting only if ground is heavy or worse.I saw a horse win in Cork last year on ground that could be described as on the very heavy side of heavy and it glided throughout on the bridle(sold for big money).Templenaboe trained locally by Lucinda Russell big big player if conditions are right.Market will tell you all you need to know.Reason I've posted early as I'm off for a few days.Niall Mulholland 1/7 in bumpers is not very encouraging but he runs a lovely horse for Roger Brookhouse called Espoir de Teillee at Bangor. This would have won in a canter at Atlacca only for falling at the last and Paul Nicholls bought the eventual winner who was second when fav in maiden hurdle recently.Put this horse in your tracker as he will be a lovely horse going forward.

Anyone know why I was paid out on Daphne Du Clos as a winner in the 3.40 at Cheltenham? Only realised now. Everywhere has Cap Soleil as the winner.

Templenaboe is running in the last at Ayr today and is being backed.

There was a stewards enquiry so I presume Cap Soleil got disqualified

Result was unchanged. Wasnt a lot in it so the right decision.

Id say your bet was paid out in error to be honest. It happens from time to time depending on the bookie they will probably leave the funds there once they realise.

Depends on the return. Tried to withdraw something once and was quickly shut down.

Espoir De Teillee out tomorrow in the bumper in Wetherby 3.10. 4/7 with Paddy Power.
