Dialler has stopped

All of a sudden I'm getting dialler has stopped when going to send a text. I've tried forcing stop on the dialler app and clearing dialler cache and data, but still it returns.

Clear cache on messaging app? Could try a factory reset as a last resort. Just back everything up first.

You said when you go to send a text. The app you send texts in is your messaging app.

Try installing a new dialler and/or new messaging app and setting them as defaults.

Perhaps you've installed an app recently that is interfering with the stock dialler either? Uninstall anything new to find out.

But in the running apps (all) there is no obviously named SMS or messaging app running.....Unless it's named something else

What the android task manager shows as running and whats actually running are two very different things.

I've installed chomp SMS. I can send SMS messages now. Thanks.
