    Hey all

Odd situation of ye people of AH

In work Thursday, a customer was taking a picture of a product in order to sent onto someone(all fairly ok).

Until i realise she is recording and starts moving the camera and gets me in the recording.

So i asked her to stop, i put my hand out to cover the camera. She just laughs and makes a comment, which implied i shouldn't mind the picture or video being taken of me.

Is there laws against this, or can i just start rocking into brown thomas taking pictures and videos of the staff because some of them are attractive.

I couldn't understand her, her english wasn't great. But her tone implide that i should be happy to have pictures and videos taken of me. She was from Asian so maybe my plain skin was a thing of wonder to her maybe

Private property can ask her to stop or delete the images. Are laws on copyrighted products but people very rarely enact them in Ireland regarding a photo.
I did photography for hospitals/businesses/hotels and had to get permission (especially for hospitals) and always got the people to sign a image release agreement as photos were for commercial use
    Public place is fair game.
Whomever takes the picture owns the copyright of it too.

Take out your phone and try videoing your car in the nct centre and you will get a lecture on the legalities pronto !

Legally, unless you're photographing in someone's house or a prtivate sitation like a changing room, it's not illegal. It;s when the image or video is published without permission that the law is broken (unless it's at a gathering like a praade and it's a crowd scene)

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Indeed legal yes. I had this a lot when street trading in tourist places.

    But very impolite.

I was fine with the ones who asked and were buying bit often when I saw someone across the road hiding behind a car to take photos I would hold up my knitting etc to hide my face. ;)

Technically private, as entry is only subject to certain terms and conditions. Of course, you don't effectively agree to these but you can be requested to leave the premises at the discretion of the company with no legal recourse.

She's probably going to be ringing the devil's doorbell while watching the recording of you.
