    Hi Folks,

Does anyone know where I can source a back up battery for a car alarm? e.g. https://www.viper.com/car/accessories/product/520t/backup-battery-system

I can't import from outside Ireland as that particular one seems to come under a few different guises / brands and its a lead filled battery, making transport either expensive, lengthy or impossible.

    Any dealers in Ireland?

I got one of those DEI units from a dealer in the UK. I'd be surprised if a DEI dealer(Clifford for example) couldn't source one for you. They do seem to be more an American market thing mind you(like ultrasonic sensors are more a Euro thing in aftermarket alarms but rarely found on US market ones).

I'll say this though I found the backup battery to be a pain in the arse TBH. I went through a couple of them. They didn't seem to last long, a year 18 months kinda thing. In the end I went for a well hidden backup battery siren(s). Less hassle, though they can stop holding a charge too.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.
