Curtains for bedrooms

    Hello all,

I'm looking for some advice on where I might be able to get some curtains for some bedrooms and perhaps the hallway in our home.

We are looking to get a coving to floor drop on all rooms, but we are having difficulty finding anything close in size. Most pre-mades go up to 90X90, and the very few we have seen slightly larger still aren't big enough, nor suit our tastes.

We forked out a fortune in a place for just one room recently. I'd like to be a little thriftier with the other rooms but don't want to sacrifice quality.

Our taste would err more on the side of traditional rather than modern or contemporary. The bay window in one of the rooms would probably be nothing less than 9ft wide. In order to get curtains to drop from beneath coving to floor you are looking at 8ft 4 aprox.

Perhaps somebody has experience with a company they can vouch for?

Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated, thank you :)

    Est.

I have one big window in my sitting room- i can't remember the drop, but it's more than 90. I ended up buying 2 pairs of curtains in Ikea, and getting them sewn together, and French pleated, and they look great! All Ikea curtains are crazy long, but can easily be taken up. Some places also do a 108"drop, if you would consider ready maxes.

I'd absolutely consider ready made, I just didn't think I'd find the right sizes. For the bay window I'd need 3 metres + double to create the natural folds when they are closed. My fear is there mightn't be enough in the width.

I'll hop onto the IKEA site, it's one I never thought of so thank you for that :)

Yup, it's hard to get the width, but sewing 2 pairs together might be the answer. Of course, by the time you fork out for alterations, maybe readymade would be cheaper. Harry Corry do some 108 drops

Got some linen panels from Ikea and took them to a seamstress to hem. Worked a treat and look fab.
