Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi everyone,

Im just looking for opinions on a purchase I'll be making in the new year.

I have my eye on the seahorse aquariums 135 marine deal http://www.seahorseaquariums.com/AquaVogue-135-Marine-Starter/9936
It's not bad and comes with most stuff however my partner said maybe go for the next one up the 170 http://www.seahorseaquariums.com/AquaVogue-170-Marine-Starter/9937
But I'm between 2 minds they say bigger tanks are better but for an extra 100 euro all your getting is some extra live rock and 35 more litres.

    What do you guys think?
Is the bigger deal better or is the 135 just fine and going 100 quid more for the little bit extra no worth it?

    Any opinions are appreciated

In tank terms 35lts is quite alot. It would enable you to stock more in the tank.

I would 1st advise to buy as big as you can, it gives much better stability to all parameters.

I would 2nd advise to forget that deal and have a bigger tank made for you by one of the adverts.ie tank builders, then pickup the equipment second hand from same site or Irish fish forum.

    Good luck, its easy!

Buy the biggest tank you can afford.

Also, I'd at least double the amount of liverock that's in those tanks as well.
