Importing a UK car in January

    Hi guys,

    I'll be bringing a car in from the UK in January.

    Last time I brought a car in was Jan 2012 so just wanted to refresh my memory and make sure no processes have changed?
    • I need the entire V5C from the seller right in order to be able to VRT it here?
    • I can only NCT the car after I have VRT'd it and obtained my Irish reg number.
    • Log book will only be issued once I have paid my motor tax? (Does this still need to be done in person at the Tax Office for 1st time tax?)
    • I read something about "Certificates of Conformity" being required since September 2016, but this only applies to Brand New cars right?
