Hi I am looking to install one of these nests in in mynute 14e boiler if anyone has any past experiences with this. The boiler has its own built in thermostat and timeclock, no wall mounted or room stat. Im just wondering about the switched live back from the module, if it goes into terminal 2 on the boiler block (after I remove cables from 1 and 2)

Is it really necessary to be RGI even though im only at the control side and not the gas side?

Yes, very much so. You are working on the control system inside the boiler. In order to do so you must remove the outer covers, this is where you have crossed the line.

Sorry, as you are not RGI registered no advice can be given here regarding carrying out any works on the inside of any Gas Appliance.

Does the same apply to installing boilers? Do plumbers need RECI to terminate the cables? Seems to be a bit of conflict here as I have never seen a plumber and a sparks installing or replacing a boiler or is this the case?

Only a RGI can do gas works (which includes the work your seeking advice on)

You must employ a RGI to do this work.

MOD:Due to the illegal nature of the post I have to close it
