Was thinking of making up something for the back of the 135....Dual or treble purpose spike and fork
I suppose i'd need 4 tines for dung and/or 2 long heavy duty tines for bales

Might add a few chain grips/brackets that could turn it into a log skid when needed when the tines are removed...

Oh ya the long tines would have to be able to fit pallets ect....while still able to grab saged bales....

Any other ideas for this when at the design stage :) or pics of something that could be bought or fabricated...

    Cheers..

What about a buck rake? Would this not do a lot of the things you suggest?

Pallet is 4 foot. Prongs will need to be 2.5ft, I'd say. Two prongs but have them run inside the side runners of the pallet. Maybe 2 ft apart or less.
I'd say you will need 4 more prongs to move dung. Two inside these and two outside.
A ram top link would be a good addition.

Rather than the inverted T shape for the structure I was thinking of rectangular made from heavy walled box ( what size box?) with mesh in the centre to prevent dung from going thru....& be able to use it to push in bales or push / clean up brash or bushes ....

So you recon I'd need bushings for 6 tines? 5 ft - 6 ft should be plenty wide....

If your going that wide, more.

What Length for the short tines? Was thinking heavy duty 36 inch for the 2 long ones..

That's a one foot spacing. Seems large for dung. 6 to 8 inches between prongs, I'd say. Otherwise you'll be dropping some.

I'm thinkin that i'd at least want to be the width of the tractor ...
5ft or 60 inches devided by 6 & take away an inch for the width of the tine would leave roughly a 9 inch space.....

I'm trying to be mind full of weight and cost .......what u think.

The with of a concrete block, looks ok. Time to check a dung fork on a loader and see the spacing. A hunch is no good when it's made.

just remeber that the more spikes you have the harder it is to pick up a bale. Especially if things get greasy

In my experiences, a bale spike needs to be two long spikes on a frame that is no wider than 4ft lto be able to pick one bale at a time.
A dung fork is best a bit wider than the tractor with fairly short teeth 6" apart.
You can use a dung fork for bales but tends to be awkward to stick in only one bale and a 135 won't lift two.
Unless you made a dung fork and had the two long teeth 12" either side of the centre tooth.. lift/drag out bales with the ends of the long ones then back in under to carry when you have it out?
You would want at least 80x80 box.. you can buy readymade with bushes in most places.

Have this for bales and can lift a pallet but you'll need s seperate item for dung ,
Wouldn't be worth the hassle messing changing tines.
