European Minimoon Ideas

    Hey,

We are getting married at end of April, and have decided that we would like to have a minimoon immediately after the wedding with 4/5 nights somewhere in Europe. We've heard that you're just so shattered that all you want is a nice hotel and a few bits to do during the day. We'll then do our "Honeymoon" sometime next Autumn/Winter.

we have been thinking something like Dubrovnik. But does anybody have another suggestions?

Obviously, somewhere in Southern Europe would be slightly preferable, as we would be more likely to get a bit of heat. That said, Iceland did just cross my mind!!

I'd highly recommend Valetta, beautiful old city, some lovely sights and there's a gorgeous five star hotel the Phoenician just about to reopen in January after a major refurb so it should be fab

I adore San Sebastián but it could be a little chilly in April. Or Saint-Emilion if you like wine!

Nice would be very relaxing.Strolling down the seafront, cafes, bars etc.

No need for a car. Days out in Cannes, Eze, Monaco all easily accessible by train or bus. The weather will be fair but not too hot.

Lot's of hotels and rental apartments to suit all budgets.

    we did this in october

    lisbon. fabulous.

id also recommend seville as an incredible destination.

both have great streets, buildings, food, weather, culture, nightlife. neither will break the bank.

We're not til July but just booked our honeymoon in Italy, interrailing around and then a five star in lake bled in Slovenia for 5 days.
Check it out, it's beautiful and you get a lot more bang for your buck :)

Dubrovnik is gorgeous, we stayed in the Radisson resort there in May 2013.

Prague is also a beautiful city.

Relatively cheap, nice people, lots to see and do.

We did San Sebastian (but as our full honeymoon - were there for two weeks - and visited a few Michelin star places) in April and it was great but as mentioned the weather I can confirm was hit and miss. Also can confirm for first few days we didn't want to do a thing but relax and we were delighted to not have to long haul for that!

I'll be following this myself. Gonna do a few days away the last week of May (and get the extra day off with the June BH!). Don't want a spot that would be too hat. I'd melt

Trying to decide the same ourselves! Wedding end of December so thinking possibly minimoon in Jan just chill somewhere warm for a few days and then do proper honeymoon in summer!

    Thanks for all the replies!

We looked up a lot of them (and have already been to alot of them), but we actually started to think the weather in April might be a little unsettled no matter where we went in Europe.

We actually decided to go a bit further afield, and are going to Dubai (booked today!)! Emirates January sale was pretty good, and the selection of 5 star hotels was amazing there so we got a reasonable deal.

Ended up being slightly dearer than Europe, but the weather will be a lot warmer etc.

Both us actually like flying, so the slightly longer flight isnt an issue.
