Not to sure if I'm in the right universe so please bear with me.

I use iptv at home. I notice recently its freezing a bit. My provider tells me its not them as they are dutch and the dutch people would not stand for it;-)

anyway. ive looked at my connections so where I am now is routers.

I only have the standard router that came with my internet but I don't know how or what to upgrade to.

From what I can see you can pay anything from 20 to 500 pound

has anyone any idea whats a good home router used for iptv line speed 90meg

    thanks

I have the Asus OnHub. Would highly recommend it too.

Brought it home from the US and cost be $90 in Black Friday sales. Probably the best place to get it if you're heading to the US anytime soon.

Google have also just release their new Google Wifi router which is the upgrade on the OnHub incase that is of more interest.

For a cheaper, but just as fast and stable option, TP-Link Archer C9 for about £85

The Google OnHub is an excellent router, but it is actually no faster or no more stable then the above C9. The advantage of the OnHub is much nicer, more user friendly user interface to set it up and admin it. Google does excellent software after all. But I'm not sure it is worth it at more then 3 times the price!! If it was £50 more, then sure. But £300 is too much IMO. You can get a three router mesh network setup for that price.

At ~100 it is a great deal and well worth it.

One question, does it have an option in the settings to set it's location to Ireland?

If not then it maybe running as if in the US (as it is an import) and maybe using frequencies and output power levels which are illegal in Ireland. In reality unlikely, but you could end up getting a visit from Comreg! Just something to look into.

How configurable are the Google onHubs? Can you configure your own DHCP, VLANs, QOS, VPN, etc on them?

They are pretty tied down. Some of the good and bad about them here. My aim is to have my iot on this so that I can use some of the triggers and action. It has just two triggers and one action
