Heard an odd noise from our oli boiler this morning. Noise started 10/15 seconds after the burner kicked in each time. Boiler is a firebird and system is sealed pressurused ayatem.
Hard to describe the noise but maybe like when a bike wheel is rotating and a bit if cloth is htting off it ? It was noticeable in the bedroom aboe the bolier and when I went down to the boiler itself. Not in the other rooms.
One of the upstairs rads is almost full of air so im going to bleed them all and hope its just air (downstairs rad had both valves replaced last month)
By the sounds of it though im worried its a pump failing and dont want to damage the wholse system if it is ?

Needs a service and oil to motor bearings normally fixes it.
    Or new bearings or motor.

Your boiler should be serviced annually. Regardless of whether it's making odd noises or not.

The service guy wrote down September 2017 for next service
Maybe it was a typo but that's what I was working off
Either way will be getting it done now anyway thanks

Then he's wrong. It's been common practice to have a boiler serviced annually for a long time.
