    Hi guys!

Not sure if this is the right forum for this as looking for advice on both turntable and speakers (aware there is a separate forum for speakers)

I'm looking to get a little HiFi setup for playing records in my office in my attic which is a fairly small space so don't need anything to powerful but would love a nice warm, detailed sound. Mostly playing Jazz and Tom Waits records :)

I always wanted an old 70s setup with lots of silver and knobs and dials and lights. I know I should be going after sound over looks. I recently picked up a Pioneer SA 508 amp in great shape from Adverts. I'm going to be looking out for an old Pioneer TX tuner to go with it at some point but that's not essential. What I'd love to pick up over the next few months would be a Turntable and Speakers to go with the Amp. Current budget would only be around 200 for each. Again, it's a small space and I'd hopefully upgrade in years to come but looking for something entry level to start off with.

Am I best off staying Vintage to go with the amp or would I be better off matching new speakers to the old amp? I quite liked the look of the QA3020s. I wasn't sure if isn't thought to be a great idea to mix new speakers with old amps etc. Likewise with turntables - better bang for your buck with second hand market or better going with somethign like the Project Essentials range? Would Adverts be the best place to keep an eye out for nice old Turntables and Speakers or are there any specialist forums in Ireland with sellers?
Very new to this so any advice gratefully taken!
