Best time to book Ryanair flight to Faro

Hi, we are thinking of going to Faro in May. The prices look a bit steep (70 quid each way). When is the best time to book these flights? Is there usually a sale in January for Ryanair or even Aer Lingus? We would prefer Shannon/Knock but can also manage Dublin.

€70 each way is probably as cheap as you will get for May travel. There is only one way those fares will go and it's up.

I think six weeks before departure date is cheapest but its a gamble. Only suitable if you are flexible.

Have a look at flights out of belfast.
I booked Tenerife . Out of Dublin it was 400 for 2 return, Belfast was 170.

This is a useful site for flight prices and possible savings, but it's all just guesswork and chance at the end of the day.

I normally pay €150 return to faro in early june so €70 is as good as it gets

If booked a good few flights to Faro for travel in the next 8 months, because we are thinking of buying an apartment on the Algarve and will be staying in a few different places to experiment.
€70 is about average. I would take it. Even if it went down to €65, you wouldnt be gaining much. Take the €70.

I booked flights home from Faro with Aer Lingus at €34 for next April. The cost of the outward flight with Aer Lingus was €39 but they were early morning flights. I wasn't happy to pay the €59 price to fly with Ryanair even though their flight time is at 9.30.am.
    So I waited.
Eventually the Ryanair price dropped to €42 but I felt that they might drop further. They had a one day flash sale just after Christmas and I picked up the outward flights for €36.

I would guess that these prices will drop further but you need to check both Aer Lingus and Ryanair on a daily basis. No harm in mixing the airlines either. Out with one and back with the other.

I just paid €120 on Aer Lingus for return flights to Faro at end of May. It's never a particularly cheap route and I'd consider €70 to be quite cheap. Demand for Faro is only going to increase because of traditional holidays destinations in Turkey, Greece etc becoming less popular

I'm looking to book flights to Portugal for the first 2 weeks in August. Looking online now, the flights are pretty expensive, am I better off waiting for a sale or something?

I find the cheapest time is the two weeks before, but if you wait they might be go e as soon as they go down.
Other than that I find 6 weeks before travel is always cheapest.
But if you see a price you like in the meantime book it then.
The airlines.know exactly how to worry you into buying at a higher price 😀. And they good at it.
