    i have a few cheviot lambs i want to try and put weight on to make them look in prime condition however my farm is not on the best of ground is there any way i can fatten them up

    Unless you're giving them meal you won't fatten them. Even on the best land in the country at this time of year you'd need to be feeding them.

    I'm presuming they're dosed, mineraled, etc. ? Other than that, a dry lie and plenty feed.

    they r aye there up to scratch on all that what is hay like if i give them hay would it make any difference

    I find a bit of hay good, to slow down the grass going through them. But if they getting meal, this should do a similar job...

    I have a few lambs that I'm feeding. They were on ok grass, getting around 0.4kg - 0.5kg ration / day and they putting on about 1.2kg / week, weighed em there yesterday.
    Some of em still have a bit to goes to factory weight yet though...

    Cheviot lambs want to be at 50kg and well fleshed to kill well at all,bad killing sheep,what weights are they at?

    +1 ya need to put your hand on them and squeeze the tail to see how fit they are
