Old Woodlawn House - film production

Hey there!

I am Lukas, a indie filmmaker from Würzburg, Germany.

The reason I am posting is the following: We are planning to shot a indie music video for a aspiring indie dream pop band from Würzburg at the beginning of January near Galway.

So we searched the internet for locations and found the old Woodlawn house. It would perfectly fit for our project!

The problem is we don't know anything about it, even if it still exists. And we hope you can help on us on that. Does anybody know the owner or something?

I haven't been there myself, but http://irishhistorypodcast.ie/inside-a-haunted-mansion-woodlawn-house-co-galway/ and http://www.abandonedireland.com/wl.html both suggest it is dangerous and not open to the public, so I doubt you'd be allowed to shoot a video there. But who knows, maybe outside only might suit? I have no contact details.

From looking through the pictures on one of the links it seems it is not in a gfeat state.

There is a number of castles/mansions available for rent on airbnb if that helps?

Woodlawn isnt open to the public, and id say at this stage it would be pretty unsafe to walk around in.. Take a look here you might find the owners name http://www.abandonedireland.com/wl.html I doubt though they would allow ye.. Could try Loftus Hall

Tyrone House Co. Galway or Moore Hall Co. Mayo are probably better bets for access.

wow great you tube video.. I didnt realise it was such a big estate.. It is a real shame that so many beauts of places like this or just left to go into dimise or rot...

Any idea what year the advert for sale at the end of the video was from ? Over €900,000 and in need of complete refurb :eek:
