    Anyone know where it is save to go for a swim in sligo ..im heading down for a few days and wouldnt mind a dip ..i know years ago there was a pool beside the yacht club rossespoint where people went ..

    the outdoor pool while in pretty poor condition is still there, it is tidal so is most useful on a high tide. there are strong current s to the left of it which you should look out for which are sign posted. the first beach would be suitable if the tide is low, that's the beach to the right of the pool as you look out to sea. access is best from the car park then walk down the slip. i don't know if you're used to swimming at this time of year but it is very cold so be careful and don't go on your own. enjoy. there's a new years day dip for the hospice on sunday if you're around for that.
