Heading to Barcelona for few days and for New Year with the hubby without the kids. Any advice on where to go and what to do for the few days. Should be head to the magic fountain for the NYE celebrations. And also on New Years Day is everything shut down or what is there to do. Any advice much appreciated.

Depending on the age of the kids I would recommend the Zoo and head down the coast to Portaventura, avoid the aquarium and camp nou unless its for a game.
