    Hi

Anyone know if this cable is Cat 5? Linking a number of standard telephone sockets in the house and wondering if could be replaced with Cat 5 sockets to run broadband, etc

It's not just the cable, it's also how its ran. Telephone cable was generally looped from room to room. To make any proper use of cat5 you need to return each point to a central location and add a switch there to send broadband to each point
