    Is there a database where I can check the number of certain models of cars in the country.

    jesus....only 60 BMWs over 2L sold in 2016.
    In 2010 the figure for the year were 231.

    I think that has to do with manufacturers rating their cars by bhp nowadays and not engine capacity.

    It's in reference to those ford 1.0L ecoboost type engines.

    Suggest a better website so. Out of what's available there it's a good website not exactly what the op is looking for but a lot better than nothing and you could make it work just a matter of going through each year and adding it all up to get what you want.
