In my first month of actual paid sub...

Every day I notice more and more that the selection is rubbish.. Think of something I'd like to watch and do I find it? Nope. But plenty of suggestions I couldn't be arsed with.

Presume it's commercial restrictions.. Any other alternatives not so restricted?

Have had Netflix for about 12 months now and tbh, I have more on my watch list than I ever get through. I don't know if you have a very narrow range of interests etc or if you are looking at it as an archive of things you want to watch again etc but there's a huge range. I started off looking for things but now I tend to just try anything it suggests. Not that much actually ends up being dumped early etc.
Can only suggest you try things out and see if you like them.

If you think Netflix isn't great, don't try Amazon Prime, I watched all I wanted in less than a week...

I used vpn for a few years but Netflix now blocks it. I'm sure it's against the rules to go into detail but is there a walk around?

It does have a better selection but not dramatically different. Tbh for 10 Euro per month I think it is good value. I have sky too.

    Also Google Play/YouTube.

Netflix is becoming an original content company, their focus isn't other companies content anymore.
