    Cue Card 6/4
    Thistlecrack 6/4
    Josse's Hill 14/1
    Tea For Two 20/1
    Silviniaco Conti 33/1

Who wins? Very small field so I'm thinking Thistlecrack announces himself as a real Gold Cup contender. His jumping won't be under too much pressure in such a small field, he could absolutely breeze this. Thistlecrack to come alongside Cue Card 3 out and canter clear.

    I agree!

With the pace Vautour ran last year, I reckon Thistlecracks jumping would of coming into question. Not half as much so this year!

What's stopping Cue Card setting a good pace to find holes in the novices jumping.

I'm in the Thistlecrack camp too. I believe that his stamina will prevail. Yes the experience jumping fences is lacking but he hasn't been too shabby so far. If Cue Card or others set a decent pace to find holes in his jumping they might burn up fuel leaving Thistlecrack to go at a steady pace and pick them off in the latter stages?

Heard the English handicapper Phil Smith ? Being interviewed by Chapman. He maintains that even if Thistlecrack runs up to his hurdle mark , Cue Card would beat him even if he runs a couple of pounds below his best .
    Joy to watch hopefully .

Such a small field is very disappointing.

If Thistlecrack wasn't running it would be an awful race.

The small field will help him but at the prices Cue Card would be my selection.

    Absolute freak of a thing.

That was very impressive. If there's one caveat, it's the proximity of Silvinaco and Tea for Two, but still, what power?

He cut Cue Cards throat. Couldnt go with the Aeroplane. He won very cosily. Absolute tool this thing. This is the best 3 mile chase performance ive seen since Denmans win in the Hennessy carrying 12 stone.

No doubt he's very classy but that was a poor poor race ( Cue Card is not the horse he was last season) compared to taking on something like Kauto Star in his prime. The horse has got loads to prove as regards taking the Gold Cup, although his likely stamina is a huge positive for him. I'll gladly oppose him in the Gold Cup, he should make the price of everything else that's running.

I wonder where the heads are now that said Vautour would have won the Gold Cup this year.

A dead horse isn't going to win the Gold Cup? That's some shout.

It not right. 6 minutes dead.

The Brits love talking up their horses alright, but it would want to have had jets to do that.
