Two hijackers who diverted an internal Libyan flight to Malta are demanding the plane be fueled and food provided.
They are armed with grenades and are threatening to blow up the plane if their demands are not met.
Women and children are being allowed off the plane.
The flight had 111 passengers and 7 crew members.

25 further passengers being allowed off the plane, look like an old man leaving the plane right now.
54 passengers of the 111 passengers have been allowed off the plane.

They'd want to be careful before they let them all out... They could be sitting on a plane that's been costing the company a bomb in repairs and find themselves considered to be as good an excuse as any to "file an insurance claim".

Seemingly Ghadaffi-followers, one of them apparently with a hand grenade.

    No known demands so far?

    Scary situation for the passengers.

Probably looking for safe passage somewhere that's not Libya. There is very little else they can really demand at this stage having released all of the passengers.

Is this what they resorted to because they couldn't afford to pay the people smugglers to get into Europe?

The hijackers have not requested asylum, maybe they wanted to add Malta to places they have visited...
