I downloaded W10 to a USB key earlier this year in order to do a clean install rather than doing an upgrade from W7. Is it necessary to hold on to the bootable USB key in case of a future re-install or can I format and re-use for file storage etc. etc.? Thanks.

You don't have to hold on to it. If you need a future re-install you'll be able to download an image from Microsoft's website and put it on your USB key then.

Thanks john - the usb key that I used is a 32GB one and I can certainly find good use for it now. Thanks again.
