In short, I want a freebies / saorview box setup for an old house with really thick walls.

I've an antenna mounting pole installed nearby and a duct ran to the base. I'd like to use this to install the antenna and satellite dish to keep the house look clean. The pole is approximately 75m from the TV, not sure how that will effect signal quality?

I've used a Ferguson box in the past at another house so happy to go with one of those again. Last time I used an old shy dish, I plan to use the same again.

What type of simese cable should I get for the system? Any good choice of antenna?

Anything better than the Ariva 150 available?

You could have a look at the edision box
    http://www.freetv.ie/edision-optimuss-os-3-plus/

    Triple tuner 2 sat tuners ( BBC and the likes ) + 1 Terrestrial ( RTE )
    7 day program Guide
1 remote for RTE and BBC
plug in a Hard drive and you could record 2 sat stations while watching RTE
use dreamboxedit to put your channels in any order you like

In my amateur opinion 75M could possibly be a cause of signal loss espically if you ever wanted to use a motorized dish so make sure to get a good quality
    cable
