Jury Duty - not Irish citizen

I've been called for Jury Duty but not sure if applicable as I'm not an Irish citizen.
I've lived here 20+ years and am on the Electoral Roll (not sure why though).
If permitted I would do it but wouldn't want to get into trouble for doing it if I was ineligible.
Can't seem to find an answer, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you are not an Irish citizen you are not eligible for jury duty. You should contact them and let them know.

As said above, ineligible. Send them a copy of your passport.

It is possible that you are incorrectly recorded as an Irish citizen on the electoral register. You can check here: https://www.checktheregister.ie/PublicPages/Default.aspx?uiLang=

Depending on your citizenship, you might be eligible to vote in certain elections, e.g. non-EU citizens can vote in local elections. http://www.citizensinformation.ie/en/government_in_ireland/elections_and_referenda/voting/registering_to_vote.html

Had conversation over Xmas about this.

It was pointed out to me it's actually quite difficult to prove I'm not Irish.

I can swear an oath but that's it - just because I have a passport from another country and don't have an Irish passport doesn't mean I can prove I'm not Irish.

I know they won't care that much - it was just an interesting point !

You self declare tbf. If you are found to be making false representations , it's an offence liable for €500 fine

Just contact them and explain there's been an error and you're not an Irish citizen. The last thing they want is for you to actually attend and have a case collapse as a result.
