Give Leaving Cert Grinds? Pimp your warez here! [READ FIRST POST: updated 17.09.2010]

June '10: I have updated the rules and requirements on this thread.

Right guys, a thread for anyone who gives grinds and wants some exposure. If you know of someone who does, you can tell them about this and get them here too.

    The rules:
One post per person. If you've already posted and know of someone else who wants to be here, tell them to register and post.
If you want your post edited/removed after the two day edit limit, PM one of the moderators with the details, and we'll sort you out. If you make a new post with revised details, please let me know.
    This thread is only for contact details, so as such, the information you must provide is;

    Grinds in Students Home? Yes/No
    Contact Name:

Any other info you wish to provide (Phone no., more precise area) is purely up to yourself.

Any institutions will be smacked quite hard if they post. I'm going to be a little more lax than in the past. If you post your rates, you must make an effort to keep them up-to-date. If someone PMs me saying that your rate is actually €50/hour, when your post says €20, your post is gone.

A guideline price is always helpful. Please state whether you have been Garda vetted or not, if you are offering private classes to individuals.

This thread will be periodically cleaned up and any posts over a year old will be removed. The thread is quite long now, so we need to enforce some form of turnover instead of people having to trawl through everything. If your post gets removed in a cleanup, please repost it. This also ensures that people's position in the list isn't static, for a bit of fairness.

PM me if you have any queries/suggestions. Don't post here.

If you would like to delete your post if you've stopped giving grinds, please go to your post, click the "report post" button (bottom left) and state that you wrote the post and you would like it removed. It's a lot easier for the mods to find your post if you report it than if you send a PM.- Piste

    (17 Sept 2010)

Please do not use coloured fonts / oversize writing. It's not a competition to see who can create the
    most garish ad!!

Mods are tired of cleaning these up, and if you insist on doing this we may just delete your ad altogether, you have been warned!!

Bold, italic and underline to add emphasis are acceptable.

Long story short: my son just started 5th year and I’m looking for somebody who can help him with German (especially oral) by Skype or Zoom. If somebody could suggest some online one-to-one tuition I would really appreciate it. Thank you.

I am a 2nd Year at RCSI studying Medicine, I achieved 601 points in my run of the Leaving Cert with 2 of my H2s being 89.5%, along with having received a H1 in all three of the sciences. I'm here to offer grinds to students that are sitting the Leaving Cert in 2021 and 2022 in Chemistry, Biology and Physics and I plan on imparting useful knowledge and wisdom to students that are hoping to work hard and achieve in their sitting of the Leaving, being a former student having gone through the process myself.

These grinds can be given online or I can travel up to 10km from my accommodation, but for health and safety reasons, it would be best to keep things online.

I have previous experience giving grinds for Junior Cert Irish and Junior Cert Science as well as helping some of my peers during the Leaving Cert itself.

I will be charging €20 per class

My approach will be as follows:

    - Grinds will be given on a topic by topic basis, if you have a preference for which topics to do first, by all means, I will take that into consideration, otherwise, I will set out a plan that is tailored around what your teacher is/has doing in school

    - We will be focused on the exam paper from the beginning, key and common questions will be given high importance and will be highlighted in my notes, from my experience of sitting the Leaving Cert, I believe that practicing exam papers early on is the best method of preparation

    - We will be focused on understanding of the concept rather rote learning, once the student has a firm grasp of what's going on, they will be able to adapt and overcome curveball questions that are becoming increasingly common in papers.

    - I will assign homework, but of course, this will be kept to a minimum as I am aware students will have plenty of work to do after school

    - You will have full access to my notes and resources that I have collected over the years

    - I am able to provide dedicated interactive online sessions with my equipment, using Discord or Zoom

    References available
If interested please feel free to give me a ring!

    Thank You

I'm a 3rd year college student who has previously completed 2 years of Mathematical Sciences in UCC. I achieved a H1 grade (95%) in Maths in the 2018 Leaving Cert.

I am offering grinds in LC Maths over Zoom/Skype. Obviously the current climate is a bit unclear regarding whether the Leaving Cert will go ahead or not, but I will structure lessons based on the assumption that it will be going ahead (until we hear otherwise).

My lessons cater to all abilities and target grades. The first lesson will include a short assessment with the intention of identifying specific areas of the course that can be improved upon. Whether you're going for a pass mark or punching towards a H1/H2, I am confident that I can help you get where you're trying to go.

I charge €25 per hour. I am currently studying from home so my timetable is flexible. I am available most days at most times.

If you would like to contact me about arranging a lesson, you can reach me at 085 839 9603 or PM this account. Hope to speak to you soon :)

Hi, My name is Gary and I'm a 40-year-old specialist in Applied Maths (New Syllabus 2023 and the existing Syllabus 2022). I understand the new syllabus fully and can provide guidance on the modeling project requirement. The leaving cert papers are a step up from the textbook and so it makes sense to have an expert to explain the workings step by step and the thinking process to solve these questions under exam conditions. I also cover the new and existing textbook. I have over 15 years experience providing lessons for applied maths students with excellent results. I received an A1 (H1) in the honours applied maths paper in 1999. I have a passion for maths and I am extremely patient and break things down to meet all levels of ability.

I can provide these lessons via Skype, Zoom, Google Meet etc.

The best way to get ahead is to get started so please contact me if you wish to avail of my services. My rate is 20 euro per hour. Please contact me via email: if you wish to discuss your requirements in more detail. Thanks for your consideration in advance.

I offer lessons through zoom and send notes to students each week by email.

I am a 4th year chemical engineering student in UCD with over two years of tutoring experience in Leaving Cert higher level maths. I received a H1 grade in maths in my leaving cert and have received an A+ grade for every maths module I have undertaken during my time in college.

I have always enjoyed maths and helping others in understanding it. I can give grinds for both leaving cert and junior cycle at higher and ordinary level. My lessons focus on completing and explaining exam paper questions topic by topic in a concise and simple manner. The topics covered in the lessons are generally in sync with the topic that is currently being taught in the students maths class, however if a student feels that more focus is needed on a particular topic, more attention will be given to that. As the year progresses, more attention will be given to completing questions paper by paper.

Please email me if interested, thanks.

I'm a teacher with over ten years experience and I correct Leaving Cert Higher Level English. I am registered with the Teaching Cuncil and I am Garda vetted. My rate is €40 an hour in person and can travel most places along the M50.

In the past I have also found it very helpful to work remotely via a combination of email and Zoom/Teams. Students regularly submit work for correction, and feedback/instruction is given by email. I would supplment this with a weekly session via Zoom/Teams or in person.

Feel free to contact me and we can discuss the option that best suits your needs.

Experience: Over two years experience teaching grinds. I also help prepare students for their practical examination which is done prior to the leaving cert. I have compiled a range of notes that are student friendly and help understand the concept of the leaving certificate curriculum.

I have a BA in Music and Geography. I am currently finishing up a two year masters in Music education. I also have a level 7 diploma in the Psychology or Counselling, and a level 9 diploma in Creative and Innovative Thinking and Problem Solving. I also have completed the grade 8 pianoforte with the RIAM and as well as the grade 5 theory and grade 8 with the ABRSM.

The leaving cert papers are a step up from the textbook and so it makes sense to have an expert to explain the workings step by step and the thinking process to solve these questions under exam conditions. I have around 20 years of experience teaching Applied Maths as I have a passion for this subject. I have a growth mindset and believe that practice is key. We will start from your current level with the goal of incremental improvements. I taught the student in 2022 who achieved the highest mark in Ireland and he took the subject externally over two years. However, I take equal satisfaction with the number of individuals that surpassed their expectations with an H1, H2 etc. I have supported individuals who have taken the subject externally with the modeling project last year and we were able to sign off without difficulty. I value the significance of your time, as well as my own, and thus, I encourage inquiries only from dedicated individuals. I have decided to keep an exceptionally low rate of 20 euro per hour via zoom, skype, google meet etc.

Don't delay any further; reach out now, and let's begin our studies in 2023. Contact me for exceptional guidance and outstanding results that will surpass your expectations at
