I am currently looking for an apprenticeship in the area of car mechanics or panel beating in the Munster region.
I am very interested in classic and rally cars especially and am interested both the mechanical and bodywork side of the repairs/maintenance.
I am a keen worker and will always do the best I can to achieve the best possible results.
If anyone is interested, please send me a private message and I would be delighted to give you more information.
All help is very much appreciated!

    Happy Christmas !! :)

best of luck but think you need to decide whether its bodywork or mechanics you like best rather than take whatever comes.

Can you not go through fas ?

Rare and interesting cars will be down the list as an apprentice. Plus having the qualification at the end is the main thing.

    Don't do it!!

Speaking from experiance, nothing will kill your love of cars as fast as working on them mon-fri week in week out.

Get an apprenticeship in a proper trade like a sparks or carpenter and spend your spare time messing around with whatever cars you want for your own enjoyment.

Eeh, mechanics & body repair are proper trades. Sounds like you have a dose of the regrets.
OP do it if you want to. I love cars, always did. Working on them for years now. Don't regret it, still go home on the evening & loose myself in the shed with another car. Doing what you love as a job is a great thing.

Have to say I agree with the sentiment of this . I love what I do but there is a major issue with people impression and respect of the trade. This makes it difficult but not impossible to have a decent career path in the industry.

If you want to pursue this career you need to do your research, find out if there is any good professional independents in your area that may be willing to take you on. failing this you need to approach the main dealers you have an interest in to see if they will take you on.

Your starting point is going to have a big impact on how you view the industry as regards to how you are trained in not just car repair but what is the right way to treat the job and customer.
