Deodorant sticks

Hi, new boards member here. I'm interesting in joining the community and thought I'd start by posting a question.

Background: Just back from the states and couldn't help noticing a lack of deodorant sticks here. All sprays and antiperspirant roll ons. Anyone else notice this?

I don't have an issue sweating and much prefer deo sticks to spray now that I've tried them across the Atlantic.

Personally, I'm not a fan of antiperspirants because of the aluminum content. Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm reading online that the aluminum is responsible for yellow stains on my shirts?

Besides aluminum blocking the natural function of sweating doesn't sound healthy in the long run.

Thoughts? Any personal experiences/preferences and articles supporting these claims would be appreciated.

l'Occitane do sticks without aluminium. They have shops about town and in the shopping centres like Blanchardstown and Liffey Valley.

Didn't notice them at Tesco, but I'll keep an eye out for them. Bit pricey though €18 (online).

Going back across in a few weeks so I may just stock up on some deo sticks, really liked the feel and smell of Old Spice one I got last if anyone's tried them.

They only sell from their own shops and are not stocked in the like of Tesco.

Pricy allright but they are about four times the size of the normal sticks!

I had an operation under my arm to remove glands, when doctor came to me afterwards he recommended not using the sprays and use a little roll on,
then again i am not a big sweater,
But when i see people put on the spray, it is bound to go further than under arm, which means more skin will get covered rather than just where it is needed

Interesting, i'm not a personal fan of the sprays (aerosols) as I tend to absent mindedly miss my body all together if I don't pay attention.

But I don't think the spray reaching more area of the body would do any harm as long as its not an antiperspirant (with aluminum).
