Is anyone here familiar with Orthotropic treatment?
    Some of the claims include

    Alternative to mainstream orthodontics
    It advocates

not having any extractions, keeping correct oral posture (lips together, teeth together, tongue pressed onto the roof of the mouth) in order to help grow the jaws into a more ideal position, widen the palate and uncrowd teeth.

chewing on hard foods to help with jaw strength

Is there any scientific evidence for this ?

the guy that came up with it is called John Mew. interesting character that creates a lot of division among orthodontists. ie, all orthodontists against him.
have seen a few patients who had it done, and it did seem to improve their facial profile as well as their occlusion. for it to work ideally, treatment needs to be planned around the growth spurt.

Its been around a while along with a few other of these "alternative" orthodontic schools of thought. Its not made its way into the main stream as of yet. See here.....https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pe7OI-PdTno

I would say in the right patient its fine.....but acolytes of these schools of treatment tend to be evangelical and apply their beliefs irregardless of patient suitability.

Yeah, I have looked up quite alot about it. He has no real examples of improvement in adults (in facial aesthetics or bite discrepancies ) despite claiming improvements with himself and others.
