"Ya can't bate the shmell of a turf fire"

"Coal is still the besht for heat"

Whatever you horse into it, there's nothing like having the fire lit over the long crimbo nights. Rads are only boring and storage heaters are the spawn of satan so best keep those switched off until the new year

Oil get the rads hot quickly in the morning then the fire takes over. Coal, turf and logs are all used. A fire is tremendous value and not only for Christmas.

I'm a lazy fncker. I usually get it kicked off with a firelog or something and then throw some actual logs on top of it if I want to keep it going.

Not great heat out of those firelogs though, you can't beat a fire from scratch. I'm just a bit lazy for that.

Natural gas, but not at the moment.

There is a fireplace, but it's a decorative one that just has some lights under a white plastic panel and some stones on the panel. There is also some kind of fan heater at the side of it, but it's noisy and it stinks. we tried it out once, for about a minute, and have never touched it again.
