    Hi. Any info on this?
There were some men outside my house today looking at the fire hydrant and going around with what looked like some kind of sonar or listening equipment. I now come to find I have no mains water in the house. My next door neighbour has mains water.

I wasn't even informed that mains would be turned off. Did they forget to turn it back on?

Is this going to affect water coming into the tank in the attic? Thanks.

    Hi there,

    Thanks for your query.

Step testing may affect supply to parts of Mountmellick, surrounding your estate, until 5pm on the 22nd of December. Any updates we receive will be posted on our website at wtr.ie/Laois and on our Twitter feed @IWCare, using #IWLaois.

As your neighbours are not experiencing any supply disruptions at the moment, would you mind confirming if the water supply coming out of your cold kitchen tap is affected?

    Thanks,
    Alex

No cold water out of the kitchen tap or outside tap. Tank in attic is full though.

Neighbor that is attached to our side has cold water from kitchen tap. Thanks.

I went and had a look at the water mains switch outside my house and it was turned off. I turned it back on. Also whom ever was working there didn't put the frost cover back on properly either.

Water supply was back as soon as I turned the mains back on. I think they turned off the water because the water rushing through the pipe was interfering with their listening device.

It's a pity they did t let me know what they were doing. I could of had laundry on or dishwasher on. Thanks.
