Physical and Online Irish retro gaming communities

In America they have communities, swap meets, competitions, normal meetups and other stuff and they have tons of fun. As far as I know, we have nothing here. Anyone who plays and collects retro games is on their own here and there is nothing they can do about it, it is very boring.
I want to know is there in fact any of these things and what are they? If not it would be worth it starting such a community

The irony, you're posting in one. :pac:

I don't know if there'd be a big enough crowd in Ireland to support the likes of a swap meet or events.

Sure when you have the best here, why go anywhere else?
And we also have the Arcade & Retro Marketplace, which lets us buy, sell and trade to each other.
The next meet up is likely to be March or so, so keep an eye here on this forum and come along.

The closest retro convention I can think of is the one in Leeds each year. :p But the lads from this forum do meet up from time to time and have the craic as far as I've heard! And sure there was talk of a pinball bar opening up somewhere in Dublin, can't remember the details.

Oh, yeah I saw the Omega one. But what I mean is, I know this is a good forums, but we really need a good group for people of all ages (to an extent) where you can just chat and easily comment without having to back anything up. Like how Facebook groups work, something more open and friendly and less like reddit. The meetups etc. do sound cool but idk, I'm shy xD.
