    Hi Guys,

I've climbed Croagh Patrick and Diamond Hill. Was wondering if there are any good mountains to climb? I want something more challenging then Diamond Hill but I'm not experienced in hiking so safety is important too.

Really appreciate any recommendations for places with good terrain and views! :)

    Thanks,
    Sarah.

Achill would be a good option, and it wouldn't be as remote as the likes of the Nephin Beag range or Mweelrea. Croaghan is a relatively easy one to summit (particularly if you start from the water reservoir) and has spectacular scenery on a clear day.

Great, thank you! I'm hoping to go end of January, celebrating 6 months of being sober and need some motivation to exercise more in January!

Nephin would be a good challenge for you. If you need any info contact the Foxford Ramblers on their fb page.

Have you thought of joining a club? Or at the very least gather a few friends including some who can navigate? Learning to navigate is a key skill, and without it you will always be restricted as to where you can go - you've done the easy ones, you're moving up a grade now :) Joining a club means you will have someone leading & showing you the popular routes.

You can do Slievemore-Cornaclea Hill-Croaghaun in one day. More info on short walks on Achill here: http://achilltourism.com/achill-island-tourism-hillwalking-on-achill-co-mayo-ireland/

Or try the Bangor Trail. There's no climbing involved, unless you fancy a diversion, but it's the best walk in Ireland IMO.

With the very best will in the world, those two itineraries are very much more physically and navigationally demanding than what the OP says she's done already. Worth aspiring to though.
