spotted this for sale as www.karlgoodwinmotors.ie , its Jim Mansfield old car that has been used as wedding car for a no. of years.
I remember this car for sale at Deerpark mtr. co. a few years ago - thought price then was less than current price of €139,950 being asked.?

The mileage of 119,000 miles is steep for this type of car and makes you wonder who would pay €140k for a car with a mileage like that ?
I saw the car at last years cannonball but think they have changed wheels since - the wheels do the car no favours and make it looking tacky.

would imagine you could get lower mileage car for a bit more in uk.

Average miles for the year, would prefer this with full history than same year car with 10k miles and no history.

The search cretria has a high range maxed out at 100K. So you'll need to browse through the listings to find it.

Every photo on that website is crap. All taken in a dark showroom with a cheap camera and a shaky hand. Other than that it should be in the dreamer thread.

120k miles is hardly high on a 12 year old car, its 10k miles per year. I'd imagine it will be bought to continue to generate money as a wedding car/special occasion limo. Could possibly end up being sold abroad too.

Can't see that being an economic proposition at that price. There's several old 1970s Silver Shadows at that game and the owners are probably taxing and insuring them as classic cars i.e. claiming they're only doing the odd spin at weekends to rallies - a Phantom would have no chance competing against those guys.

it is high for a Rolls , the ' average' mileage thing doesn't apply to cars like this. Put it this way not many 150k mile Rolls for sale anywhere and not much demand for them - not when theres so many low mileage cars available in UK.

Anyone know what background of this dealer is ? I like the stock he buys in but its all a bit iffy the set up.

Wasn't Jim Mansfield old phantom a black one with a mansory body kit on it ?

Kinda. Wouldn't be buying anything off him personally.

Using as a PSV without proper insurance would be be a high risk strategy.

Are they revealing that this car was damaged and should actually be written off? Think it cost about €100k to put it right.

Do you know the details? I'm sure if it was more economical to write it off, it would have been.

interesting as I could have swore that Deerpark motor company had this car for sale a couple years ago for about 90k ? think it ended up at Dream cars soon after. Remember thinking it was well priced which it isn't exactly now.

I thought Jim Mansfield's one was a black 2007 with reg 07 D 12007. Used to be up outside the Citywest hotel regularly.

The two cheapest Phantoms in the UK are around £80,000, one with 100K miles and the other with 141K miles. All others are £100,000+.

Calculate that you get 36% back off the OMSP of that Roller if you export it and register it abroad, (though what Revenues idea of the worth of it is, is a bit of a gamble), and it's still not worth it.

That was jims second Phantom , someone on here was saying the 2004 one has interesting history so might explain why he got rid of 2004 one ?

It's been reduced by 14k now to 125k . Will still be slow to sell but going in right direction.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,923 ✭✭✭goochy

still for sale and now at €119k , aside from the horrible wheels hard to see who could justify spending this money on a 13 yr old car with high tax and more miles up than your typical Rolls.
Think about €90k and proper wheels and it would not be too bad a buy.
