We are planning on getting married in late Dec 2017 and are looking for a venue in Galway or an hour or so from there. A lot of guests will travel from Asia so would prefer a location that's easily accessible.
We don't want a soulless hotel ballroom with no character. Any suggestions or ideas?

You could look around Athlone. Most flights will fly in to Dublin so somewhere closer to the east coast would be better, and Athlone is so easily accessible as a town.

Can't help with individual venues I'm afraid.

Yeah, didnt Galway airport close down? I'm not sure why it would be any mroe accessable for people coming from Asia than anywhere else on the Motorway network from Dublin.

Wineport would be a nice option in Athlone, although not sure what your budget/numbers are.

Absolutely Check out the Slieve Aughty Centre.

I almost booked the venue, just didn't do it in the end because I got pregnant and we delayed the whole thing.
The lady working there and doing the organisation is lovely and it's definitely something different to a Hotel.

The second venue we checked was Brigid's Garden, they are very flexible, but the venue named above absolutely amazed me so we didn't go with Brigid's Garden.
