Im having a lovely home reared joint of Dexter beef for Christmas dinner, any ideas out there for what kind of starter to have, I'd go for smoked salmon myself on brown bread but two of my five guests don't like cold fish, they don't mind fish, just not cold:rolleyes::D

So all ideas are welcome, Im doing the typical Sunday roast beef, roast potatoes, honey roasted carrots and parsnips and gravy.

    Thanks in advance

I had poached pears in red wine as a starter to fillet steak one year with a salad and balsamic vinegar dressing. It was great. And light.

fried Prawns in Garlic and Chilli , simple quick and delicious
Caesar Salad with Chicken and bacon , easy to do and you can prepare it in advance so quick to plate up
    Antipasta and bread.
