Has anyone received their rebate cheque from IW for "beating the cap".

I was told by Irish Water that I would receive a rebate for unmetered\capped charge bills, in the form of a cheque, should our water usage be under the allowance for a 12 month period from when the meters were installed.

A question to the general public, has anyone actually ever received a rebate cheque for "beating the cap" from Irish Water or am I the only person that is hitting a brick wall with Irish Water every time I try to claim the rebate?

I have been working with Irish water to try to get the rebate cheque for over 5 weeks now with no success even though the 12 month metered amounts show we have used under our allowance.

Were you on the capped 'plan' while you had a meter for the year?

There were no charges during the 12 month period that I was on the meter as they has been scrapped. I was told that if I limited the consumption during that 12 month period and kept it under my free allowance that there would be a cheque rebate for the 3 quarters previous to that when I was unmetered.
I had paid 3 x €64 for those quarters and by my calculations most, if not all, of that should be refunded.

Unless I'm not following you properly, surely the rebate would only apply to months where there were both bills and the property metered? Not months where there were no bills? A rebate is a refund of an over-payment, if nothing was paid during the metered months I don't see how you would be refunded? Unless I'm picking you up wrong.

If your metered usage is lower than the capped charge level, your bill will be less than the capped rate.
If you do not yet have a water meter, your bill will be fixed at the relevant capped rate, but after your meter has been installed, you will get a rebate if your metered usage over a 1-year period turns out to be lower than the capped level.

The rebate is for when you were on an unmetered charge.
For those who were initially on an unmetered charge you had to pay the flat rate, in our case €64 euro.
We did that for 3 quarters until the meter was installed.
