We are having a new kitchen installed, electrician says we don't need a separate isolator for the hob and double oven. My understanding is that the switch needs to be within 2 metres of the appliances. The switch he has provided is beside the double oven but 4 metres from the hob. Can anyone give me a reference for the requirement please? Thank you

You are right it needs to be within 2m of both appliances for common isolation. Otherwise you will need separate isolation for both.
