How to pre-enroll your child before coming to Ireland?

    Hello,
I have a very tough days arranging a lot of things for the relocation to Ireland, and one of these things is pre-enrolling my 2.5yr daughter to ET schools.
I didn't determine where we will be renting, that's why I have had a list of the ET schools in areas I might be sitting in. I know that every ET school has its own enrollment policies, but they all share the same requirement, download the pre-enrollment form, fill it in and post it back to the school or physically hand it off to the school administration.
I wonder, have anyone managed to enroll his child, by filling in the form (without the address or the contact number) and sent it back to the school online? Is it a valid method?
Or do I have to wait until I settle down in a rental apartment and begin this process there?
Thank you all for your time

Hi mohm. We are in the same situation (moving to Ireland and trying to register children) however, we already have an apartment to move in to. I sent emails to two schools that were nearby to where we will be. They need recent utility bills (Ireland) to get my children in their waiting list. Since the place is still rented, we can't provide this so we are lost on this. I would love to know more about this topic. And if other families have been through the same.

Can you not explain your situation, giving an approximate date of arrival in the area from abroad and expressing your interest, saying that you will contact the school again, as soon as you have arrived?

I think you need to talk to the individual schools yourself - they may have a solution for you.

You should definitely contact each school. ET schools are "first come, first served" so do not wait. Some allow for online forms, most probably don't.

If you have any friends in Ireland you could use their address, otherwise make sure that your email address will be valid after you move. When you do move, contact the schools to update your contact information. If you are offered a place you will be given some time to reply (could be 2 weeks, maybe more, maybe less) so you will need to ensure that your contact info is up to date.

Not all ET schools are first come, first served, to the best of my knowledge, best to contact any school the OP is interested in and see what their policy is.Ideally before Thursday as schools will close for Christmas and won't be re-opening until Jan 9th.

A few ET introduced catchment area restrictions so if you update your address your child may move down in the list; happened to us.
