...but actually I hope it doesn't snow. Well a little bit is grand I suppose but nothing crazy like back in 20(10?).

Do you like or want snow?

    Racist.

If you're going to make a joke don't make it predictable :)

Making it actually funny is bonus points

I remember telling my barber (female) a few days before Christmas that "the bookies have it to be a white Christmas at 10-1"

She thought this was absolutely amazing, she couldn't believe that meteorologists had the weather down to such accuracy that they could predict it would show at 1250 on Christmas day.

God love her, she was bloody serious too.

I nearly choked trying not to laugh.

I want the 10 inches of snow, screw this cold damp weather, doesn't feel christmassy at all. feels like easter weather. Which is ironic coz thats when it usually snowed as a kid.

2010 was the best christmas because of the snow. Would love to get a serious dose of snow again this year.

I'd love a white Christmas but my family live on a country road that can be quite treacherous in bad weather so travelling back again could be dangerous. A white first week of January would be better. :)

How do you have a hot whiskey? Just pop it into the microwave?

    The effort of that!

Gwan outta that! It's no more effort than tea! Or hot port. Or baileys hot chocolate. And very worth it!

There's no snow in the models. Just miserable wet and stormy muck.

Adding water to it would go against me! I'm not saying I won't try it but I'll reserve judgement.

the really bad snow winter was great, I think it was the 09/10 one which was worse than 10/11 right?
Anyway, I enjoyed it. Walking around Dublin with a foot or two of snow on the ground was just bizarre, I hope we get that again in my lifetime.

    That's a very fair point!

Tis lovely at Christmas and a bit more socially acceptable at 1pm than a straight up whiske :)

A white Christmas is my idea of a nightmare. I have too much driving to do in rural areas and would hate to miss visiting family or having them visit us. Second week in January would be fine as I've no plans yet.

I like snow when it first falls but it turns to crap after a day when loads of people have driven and walked in it. Then the council shovel it up off the road and dump it on the footpath. I'd like snow more if I lived out in the middle of nowhere and had enough food in the house to last a couple of weeks.

I bought a 4x4 recently, so I'm really hoping for snow. Doesn't have to be at Christmas - January or February will do.

Check out Michael Harding; " Why I'm dreaming of a white Christmas ". Irish Times. Wednesday, December 23, 2009.

I'm a complete non believer and really couldn't give a sh*t about xmass, any more than my creatures could.

But, I just Can't read that piece without I end up in shreds! It quite simply is the best, most evocative bit of writing I've ever f**king read!
